Building a New Narrative for Future Leaders
The Challenge
The challenge for this internal marketing campaign for the brazilian giant brewer Ambev was to inspire change within the company. A powerful video was needed to start a conversation about Black leadership in Brazil, using the internal event for the launch of the "dàgbá - Líderes do Futuro" collective as a catalyst for that change.
The Solution
The video montage, editing and motion design created a visual dialogue between past and present, weaving historical engravings with portraits of successful individuals to illustrate a story of resilience and achievement. The narrative culminates in a final motion sequence where, accompanied by the soundtrack's lyrics, a stop motion-like texture loop and the logo are revealed, summarizing the campaign's core message.
The Result
The campaign was a resounding success within Ambev. The video generated important discussions and received overwhelmingly positive and emotional feedback from all employees and leadership present at the launch. The work effectively established the dàgbá collective's mission and served as a powerful conversation starter for change within the company.
The entire video is constructed as a visual and conceptual collage. The editing intentionally contrasts different kinds of footage and mediums, from historical engravings and archival interviews to modern, cinematic portraits. The collage approach serves as the central metaphor for the piece: building a new, successful present by acknowledging and weaving in the threads of the past.
The final motion sequence is set to a powerful interpretation of a classic samba by the legendary Leci Brandão, sung by the iconic voice of Seu Jorge. Over a subtly textured background, the 'dàgbá' logo animates on screen, punctuated by a dynamic, hand-painted red brush stroke. This pairing of a culturally-rooted anthem with a clean, modern logo animation was designed to honor the past while inviting a new generation to rewrite the future, ending the piece on a final, human note.
